What's actually in the Edits app

Every feature here is explained in terms of the result it gives you, not the marketing name. Availability can vary by app version.

Recording

Capture footage without leaving the app

Adjustable camera settings

Set resolution, frame rate and dynamic range before you shoot, so you're not fixing exposure problems later.

Long single takes

Individual clips can run up to ten minutes, useful for talking-head segments you'll trim down afterward.

Flash and zoom controls

Basic in-app controls during recording, so low light or a tighter framing doesn't need a separate camera app.

Editing

Frame-level control over the cut

Single-frame precision

Trim and split clips down to an individual frame, useful for lining up cuts with a beat or a specific movement.

Green screen and cutout

Swap backgrounds with a green screen, cut a subject out automatically, or layer a video as an overlay.

AI-assisted animation

Turn a still image into motion for b-roll or transitions when you don't have matching video footage.

Filters, fonts and stickers

A built-in library of visual filters, text styles, sound effects and stickers to style a video without extra apps.

Speed and volume per clip

Ramp speed up or down and adjust volume independently on each clip in the timeline.

Drag-and-drop timeline

Reorder, duplicate and replace clips directly on the timeline instead of digging through menus.

Audio & captions

Make sure people can actually hear you

Background noise gets suppressed and voices get pulled forward, so a clip shot somewhere loud is still usable. Captions are generated automatically and can be restyled — font, size, color, and position — to match the rest of the edit.

What gets cleaned up

  • Background hiss and hum
  • Wind noise on outdoor clips
  • Uneven volume between clips
  • Auto-generated caption timing

Track what's working, in the same app

Beyond editing, the app keeps a running history of your drafts and shows basic performance data for published videos, so you don't need to jump into a separate analytics tool to see what resonated.

  • View and engagement trends over time
  • Audience size at time of posting
  • Draft and project history in one place
